Flatbed and Slide Scanning

The Media Lab located in Speer Library is equipped with 5 highspeed professional quality color scanners.

  • new2Plustek OptiBook 3600 book scanner with the new Shadow Elimination Element Technology includes a specially designed edge and lamp that allows half of the book to lay completely flat on the glass with the binding against the corner edge eliminating spine shadows.

  • new2Kodak i1320 Scanner is a 60 ppm duplex (scans both sides) color scanner with a 50 page Automatic Document Feeder with advanced image processing features that delivers exceptional image quality. Scan as PDF, Word or picture files.

  • new2IRISPen handheld scanner scans text and instantly translates it.
    It works just like a highlighter: simply slide the IRISPen™ over printed information from books, newspapers, magazines, faxes, letters, etc. What you get is real editable and translated text scanned into MS Word.

  • Microtek ScanMaker 9800XL flatbed scanner accommodates oversized documents or books up to 12x17. Resolutions up to 12,800 dpi.
  • Nikon Super Coolscan 8000 ED slide scanner will scan 35mm mounted slides, 35mm film strip and 120/220 film strip up to 4000 dpi resolution.

Files can be burned to a client supplied CD or transferred to a network account folder.
